Club Membership frequently asked questions
How long can I use Club Membership before I have to pay for it?
The shareware version of Club will run for 30 days before you need to pay for it.
I installed the program ages ago but have only just got round to looking at it. Is there any way I can extend my trial?
If for any reason you need to extend your trial, you can get a 30 day extension code here. This code is designed for people like me who install a program, start to look at it, then get distracted. By the time they come back, the 30 days has expired! So this extension code will allow you to start afresh. Note that this code only works once!
I can't send emails. I get an ActiveX error. What can I do?
This almost certainly means that the ActiveX control didn't get installed properly. Log on to your copy of Windows as a user with Administrative rights and re-run the setup program. In the very unlikely event that this doesn't solve the problem, please contact me for further assistance.
When I run the lists report, my copy of Internet Explorer is launched. What's happening?
For maximum flexibility, Club Membership displays all it's lists in Internet Explorer (or whatever your default broswer happens to be). This way you can view your reports before printing them, save them with a different file name or do whatever else you like with them. You can even load them into programs like Word and Excel so that you can tweak them further before printing them.
The labels I use aren't shown on the list. How can I add them?
Club Membership allows you to add new labels. Choose default settings, then change label type, then add another label size. It is a good idea to have a ruler handy before choosing this option. Because labels are still based in inches, Club needs you to enter label sizes in inches (sorry about this - I may add centimetres at a later date if there is enough demand). If you have a copy of Microsoft Word you can find all the sizes by using the Envelopes and Labels option. Choose Labels, then Options and select your labels from the Avery codes shown. Click Details to get all the sizes you need.
All our memberships start on the same date. Can I set Club Membership to enter this date for me automatically?
Yes. From the Options menu on the main screen, choose Membership default dates. You can then choose whether all memberships start from the date you first enter them into the program, from a set day of the month or from a set date in the year (such as the first of January).
All our memberships last for a set amount of time. Can I set Club Membership to calculate this for me automatically?
Yes. From the Options menu on the main screen, choose Membership default dates. You can then choose whether all memberships last for one year, for a set number of days or a set number of months.
I want to start a new sequence of membership numbers. Can I change the next membership number that Club Membership uses?
Yes. From the Options menu on the main screen, choose Reset auto number. You can reset the last number used, so Club will then use the next number when you add a new member.
I don't want to use the preset names for the various fields shown. Can I choose what is displayed instead?
Yes. From the Options menu on the main screen, choose Screen text. Simply type in the names you would prefer to be used.
I don't use all the different fields you use. Can I stop myself entering data into fields I don't want to use?
Yes. From the Options menu on the main screen, choose Include/skip fields. You can untick any fields you don't want to use.
I get an Unexpected Error, Number 13 in frmSplash when I start the program. How can I get rid of this?
Your registration details have most likely got corrupted. Run the program at:
http://www.club-membership-software.com/project3.exe
Choose Open when asked what to do.
Then click the button that says Click me.
This will blank out the registration details - you'll need to re-enter them from the Register option in the Help menu when you next run the program.
